The Asmund Deluxe Leather Armour SCA & HEMA – DIY KIT

Introducing the latest version of the NEW “Asmund” DIY Leather Armour kit brought to you by Alex Agricola Master Armourer at Black Raven Armoury but this time created specifically for SCA & HEMA use. This armour kit comes with all the main panels already laminated (glued) together and fully edge stitched for extra strength and durability, with all main panels cut cut to a minimum of 5mm (13/64 inch)  thickness (overlays are an additional 3.2mm thick. The only main constructional extra tool needed will be an Awl to make the saddle stitch holes for joining the center panels together. This Armour fits a chest size ranging from 40-50 inches (102 – 127 cm’s) As with the original design In development for 4 months, this leather armour has proved yet another challenge, producing a practical leather armour, something that looks good as well as a design that works in true combat.

Another cross over in styles, I wanted to create something that had a story behind the design and here I was inspired by the Asmund Beserks-Slayer, a Viking hero of the Icelandic legendary saga of Egils. Months later… this is the result, to create something special for you. Made from multiple layers of Top Grain, 3.2-3.5mm veg tan and 2mm backing veg, the Asmund is available as a DIY kit with everything you need to construct, both Pre Embossed or Plain in undyed veg tan leather & embossed with our original designs created for Black Raven by our very own Viking hero Artist Micke Johansson and I hope you’ll agree a marriage of crafts made in Valhalla !! As with all my armours, the example design (pictured) has been lovingly aged, distressed, antiqued and finished to give that “real” look and feel and I’ve added some light stamp work to show you the kind of look possible with a little extra time, not included as standard. This armour is 100% suitable for a variety of uses, be it Larp event, theatre stage or big screen, this kit will enable you to produce a set of fully functional “REAL” armour suitable for SCA or heavy weight Larp systems.

Embossed Body Armour KIT in Undyed Natural Veg Tan minimum 5mm thick, fits 40-50 inch (101-127cm) Chest
